WynnCast #47: Tea Parties, Twitter, Tornados & Trailer Parks

Posted on April 14th, 2009 by Tyson
Filed under WynnCasts | No Comments

In this exciting edition of the WynnCast, Tyson & Jeane have not one, but two Wynnterviews. First, we talk with Denise Clinton (no relation), a Claremore resident who is coordinating Claremore’s tax-day TEA party. She gives us the skinny on the planned events. Then we talk to Okie blogger Kristin Hoover, AKA The Redneck Diva. We talk about almost everything under the sun, including Spring in Oklahoma (as viewed from a 3″ window in a fraidy hole), mobile home communities, spoonbilling, and Southern Baptist vacation Bible school. We’re a real riot. Oh, and the Gipper started out the show. Enjoy, and tell your friends!

Tyson Wynn News & Comment #1

Posted on March 4th, 2009 by Tyson
Filed under Tyson Wynn News & Comment | No Comments

This is an homage to the late Paul Harvey. There’s probably not a radio guy anywhere who has not secretly tried to emulate, “Hello Americans, I’m Paul Harvey. Stand by for news.” It’s because we loved and admired Paul Harvey greatly. Paul Harvey escapes emulation; it’s just not possible to copy such an American (Tulsa, even) original. From time to time, though, I will endeavor to provide a Tyson Wynn News & Comment in honor of Paul Harvey’s memory. It’s styled after Mr. Harvey’s format, with a little twist of Wynn. Hope you enjoy.

The One for the Okie Blog Awards

Posted on December 31st, 2008 by Tyson
Filed under Blog Info | 3 Comments

Mike at Okiedoke has announced that nominations for the next round of the Okie Blog Awards will be accepted from January1-20, 2009. The WynnBlog and the WynnCast have both been nominated in the past, but we have failed to bring home the gold. Seeing as how one of the qualifications for an award is that the blog must be active in the last 60 days of 2008, I figured I had better make a last-ditch post here on Dec. 31. Jeane and I had planned a last-day-of-the-year WynnCast, but I’ve had the dreaded sinus stuff, making one impossible.

Additionally, I’m having some server issues that are affecting all my sites. In the next few days, I will be transitioning to new, more robust, faster servers, so look for improvements in the WynnBlog and WynnCast. Once the technological stuff is taken care of, we’ll be more WynnCasty.

Now, get over to Okiedoke and make your nominations.

WynnCast Special Presentation: Michael Bates from RNC

Posted on September 1st, 2008 by Tyson
Filed under WynnCasts | No Comments

Jeane and I are were thrilled to be joined on the phone by Michael Bates from the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, on this edition of the WynnCast. Michael is godfather of the Tulsa bloggers (www.batesline.com) and a columnist for the Urban Tulsa Weekly (www.urbantulsa.com).  Pardon the coughing and sniffles; I’ve been hit by a huge allergy attack.

We discuss:

  • The response to Palin as VP candidate
  • Palin’s qualifications
  • Palin’s a reformer
  • McCain listening to the conservative base…
  • The rules committee decisions regarding primaries and military personnel
  • Instant runoff voting
  • The sanctity of life
  • Worshiping at Bethlehem Baptist Church (where John Piper is pastor)
    • I had a brain cramp while trying to quote Piper. It should be: God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.
  • The upcoming schedule for the convention
  • Any celebs at RNC?
  • People who live in glass mansions shouldn’t throw stones
  • Stumbling onto Families United rally with Jon Voight
  • and many other things.

Check back throughout the week, as we intend to do updates when Michael’s and our schedules allow.
