I wondered why you all had been so quiet! So happy for you guys, and totally jealous of the tin ceiling. My grandparents were in the Oklahoma Land Rush and pioneered in and around Jones, OK. The ceiling of the building where my grandfather’s newspaper was housed looked just like yours. Congrats!

Thanks for all the congrats and well wishes. We’re enjoying being able to spread out in our new space.

There will also be challenges. For the last five years we have lived literally 2 minutes from Walmart. Now we have to drive at least 20 minutes to a small Walmart and 30 minutes to a Super Center. We’re going from several restaurants open til 11 PM to one restaurant open for breakfast and lunch (but it’s a good one). There’s definitely no pizza delivery. The high-speed Internet is great, but not nearly the speed we had with COX business in Claremore. It’s still ample for business.

On the upside, we love seeing the activity on main street, and there is quite a bit. We’re next to the post office, which will be a huge blessing. We’ve printed our own postage for years, but it’s always been a chore getting everything to the PO, and the Claremore postal workers would just as soon spit on you as help you out. Out postmistress is rearing to help us out, and the location is perfect. On top of that, the PO is a busy place, so we get to see people we know come and go all day.

The big bonus is that we’re with our families a lot, and that’s why we’re here. Thanks to the advancement of technology, we can do what we do from anywhere we have Internet, phone, mail, and shipping, so we’re thrilled we’re doing it from here.
