Hot Dog! The WynnBlog is Firing on All Cylinders Again

OK, loyal readers, you are now reading this site (hopefully without incident) on its new server home.
Let me give you the info on what’s been the problem with this site lately.
I love WordPress. It just rocks. It’s blog software, but it is so customizable that you can use it to create professional-looking business and organization sites as well. It’s just brilliant, and it’s free.
I have hosted this site on WordPress’s framework on my own server for a long while now. We have great speed Internet connectivity and a static IP, so I (make that: my computer dude) installed Apache’s web server on an old Windows XP box I have. We were up and running. It’s been a good setup, and I can’t tell you how awesome it is to simply move items across my network instead of dealing with FTP clients, etc.
Occasionally, though, when I upgraded to a new version of WordPress, it would break things because my version of Apache or PHP or MySQL would be out of date. Then I have to suffer through a broken blog until I (my computer dude) makes things all better. Let’s just say it’s a bit tedious doing all this on a Windows XP box (much as I love it as an OS).
So, for the present, I am shifting all sites I host on my server to my computer dude’s company (info coming soon). I (yeah, you guessed it, my computer dude) will nuke my old Windows box, transforming it into a Linux server box. It should make future upgrades much less painful.
When the process if over, I’ll decide whether to leave my sites on the new server or move them back home. In all likelihood, those receiving the most traffic will stay off-site, while some of the lesser visited will move home. We’ll just see how it goes.
Oh, and the WynnCast Blog will be broken for just a few more hours. My computer dude’s connectivity at home was swept down the plain with the Oklahoma wind tonight before he could get my DB installed. We should be good to go very soon.
I appreciate all my readers, and I really do thank you for taking some time out of your day to swing by here. I want it to be as easy and frustration-free as possible. I am hope it is now so.
