SermonCentral.com is carrying a very instructive article by John MacArthur (one of my heroes). He begins by saying:
[Expository] preaching is in short supply these days. There are plenty of gifted communicators in the modern evangelical movement, but today’s sermons tend to be short, shallow, topical homilies that massage people’s egos and focus on fairly insipid subjects like human relationships, “successful” living, emotional issues, and other practical but worldly—and not definitively biblical—themes. These messages are lightweight and without substance, cheap and synthetic, leaving little more than an ephemeral impression on the minds of the hearers.

A caller to Bruce Delay’s HeartLand radio program, defended Rick Warren’s statement that he would work with anyone to eliminate poverty, by suggesting she would work with the Devil if necessary to eliminate poverty. I don’t see anywhere in the scripture that the path to Eternal life is through the elimination of physical poverty. With the vast array of support across the world Rick Warren has (http://www.rickwarren.com/about.html), what do you think his chances are for telling the Tolerant World that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal salvation. The Ecclesiastical Community is the last Power Base the Globalists need to transform to their purposes and Rick Warren is their Man.
