John Kerry’s Big Mouth
5November 1, 2006 by Tyson Wynn
I am not going to say much about Kerry’s recent faux pas, as it is being well covered. What I will say is this:
Why does it make it OK for him to have said what he did if it really was a botched joke about the Prez? Why is it OK to continually call W a dummy. He is a graduate from an Ivy League school. He is not a stupid person. His biggest fault is that he is not the best public speaker. That’s not the same as being stupid.
Laura Ingraham had the audio a while back from a Bill Mahar show where some pundit (his name escapes me now) made the very cogent point that ”calling Bush stupid” is the joke that only stupid people laugh at anymore. He’s right. Bush is not dumb. You may disagree with him; it’s a free county. But quit calling the man stupid.
Kerry needs to apologize–to the troops and/or Bush–for his stupid remarks.
PS Let’s compare W’s and Kerry’s college grades sometime…

It obviously takes the “Special Mind” of the Left Elitists to discount a degree from their own Elite Institution as a missed opportunity for a good education. How else do you conclude that W. is a military type stuck in Iraq because he failed to go the education route. Obviously just having the sheep skin is all you really need, since JK’s towering intellect could only manage a (C/D) performance.
Yeah, it takes a really smart person to invent words like “misunderestimate” and “hispanically”. Or to call the Greeks the “Grecians”. Or to ask the President of Brazil if they have any black people there.
And furthermore, whatever Kerry’s intentions were his comment would have to go quite a ways to compare with Bush’s recent heartless statement that in the history books all the death and destruction in Iraq (including American troops killed) will amount to “just a comma”. And where was the outrage from the Republicans and the military? Hmmm?? Nothing but the sound of crickets chirping. [Last sentence removed due to its total lack of maturity and tact.]
Blog owner’s note: If you want to comment here, keep it clean. And by clean I do not mean substituting asterisks for letters in profane words. If you want to use that kind of language, get your own website and use it there, but don’t trash up my blog with it.
I am not familiar with the quote you attribute to Bush. Do you have a reference for it?
But let’s look at this logically. First, any loss of life is a tragedy, whether it be American or our enemies. Unfortunately the only way to stop our enemies is to kill them. In war, there will be casualties on each side. America goes out of its way to ensure the very least amount of collateral damage.
In the Civil War (or the War of Northern Aggression, if you prefer), nearly 55,000 troops were killed in the one battle of Gettysburg. That was one battle of one war. The entire War on Terror has been fought with a much, much smaller human toll. As I said, any loss of life is a grave tragedy, but we have come a long way when the loss of American lives is still under 4,000 in a campaign that has been as long and successful as the current one is.
So, without seeing Bush’s words in context I cannot accurately determine what he meant, but this is my take on the situation.
Plus, Kerry is still an elitist snob with a loathesome view of the military. And Bush is not stupid.
I don’t think that’s heartless, I think it’s accurate. The Iraq war when compared to all other major wars, is a comma. For example, WW1 and WW2 would be long sentences. Vietnam would be one sentence. Iraq is a comma.
Seems quite logical to me if you’re comparing death tolls.
John Kerry better watch it. There are a lot of “uneducated” people out there. As the saying goes, “Don’t underestimate the power of a large group of stupid people.”
Kerry is shameful.
