My Sinuses Are Possessed & My Wife Is Not

2

August 21, 2006 by Tyson Wynn

OK, I don’t really believe Christians can be possessed. It would be nice to have demons to blame for my chronic sinus problems, and I wish my sinus problems could be fixed as easily as an exorcism.

Two or three times a year, they just go nuts, and it’s a real pain. I especially hate it when I have to miss church over it, but when it happens there is no way I can do what I am supposed to do there. The only option is meds and bed. That may have been why I felt so much like a slug at the time of my last post. Things are getting better, but I am progressing to the period of recovery where my sinuses just feel raw. The slightest dust is painful. A couple more days and I should be OK. I mean, I am functioning now, but any extended talking is still out of the question.

And in completely other news, I am so very proud of my wife! She was asked today by a major institution of higher education (a university) to teach two classes this semester. We can’t really get into the details, and due to our already heavy schedule she had to decline, but it was a great honor to have been asked. There are days where I just have to step back and marvel at the woman I married–and thank God that He uses her so. She is the hardest worker I know. She gives every one of our clients the best she has. She reads and understands their works. She works longer days than anyone I know to make sure they all get every opportunity she can find. In fact, she would have loved to teach these classes, but I have the sneaking suspicion that the biggest reason she chose to decline was that she was afraid it might have drawn away from our clients. I admire the heck out of her for that. Amazingly, after giving our clients so much of herself, she still has time for me and the puppies, our families, and church. I can honestly say she is the coolest pastor’s wife I have ever known. And let’s not forget the retreat. That’s kicking into high gear as well. All in all, let’s just say I married up, way up. I love her to pieces!
