It is approximately five minutes until 1984

Orwell may have been a little off on the date, but he sure was a prophet. If these "public servants" are allowed to get their way and operate un-checked in the name of public safety, our civilization is doomed. Houston Police Chief Harrold Hurtt wants cameras everywhere, even public homes, and he says, "If you’re not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?"

Have you noticed the cameras at several of our own Claremore area intersections lately?
I’m currently reading “Hope of the Wicked”, by Ted Flynn, a globalism expert. In it he mentions Orwell a few times. The book deals mostly with the infrastructure that is being lain for the coming kingdom of antichrist. It’s been a good read so far.
I have indeed noticed them. And red-light cameras, though they are often ushered in under a guise of public safety, have one purpose: revenue.
FoxNews’s Judge Andrew Napolitano’s Book Constitutional Chaos ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0785260838/sr=8-1/qid=1140305104/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-2994790-0011133?%5Fencoding=UTF8 ) points out that study after study, and result after result has shown that the best solution to red-light runners is to lenghten the duration of yellow lights. It’s very simple and very effective. But governments do not do this because they do not get the revenue from law-abiding drivers. They do, however, generate revenue from red-light runners and cameras.
As for Hope of the Wicked, I have not read it. I may need to pick it up. It is certain that with every technological advance, it makes every government, including the eventual government of Antichrist, more able to keep an eye on its people.
On that note, though, I have to remind folks that there is no stopping it. It’s in the Bible; it’s going to happen just the way the Scriptures say. I mention this because there are always a few who fear that owning a credit/debit card is tantamount to taking the mark of the beast. I maintain that people will not be tricked into that. They will take the mark with the full knowledge that they are forever rejecting Christ.
